Two-Toned Round or Larkfoot Basket with Hanging Option Pattern
Baskets can be used in so many ways all throughout your household and adding in the hanging option gives even more ways. They can be hung from the walls or from a doorknob or not hung at all. They can be used to store towels, yarn, clothes, toys, plants, and so much more. There are two basket patterns given: one is easier with only basic stitches (doesn’t mean it’s not cute as heck!) and the other is a pattern inspired by the larkfoot stitch to create a more interesting color change. As for the hanging option, the way to add the loop is the same for both patterns. The main difference between the two pattern shapes is that the Round one has a decreased mouth (smaller opening than the widest part of the body) whereas the Larkfoot’s body is straight- which makes it look different while hanging. Regardless, your baskets will be useful and cute!

Color Notes:
There are many options for color ordering in this pattern. In the example image, the color order was: Oatmeal for the base, Aran for the body’s rounds 4-7, Oatmeal for Round 8-10, and Aran for the rim and the loop. Other options include using one skein until it’s out (ending at the end of a round) and using the other skein to finish the rest of the pattern. Fasten off between each color change and start next the next round at a different point to stagger the rounds start/end.
Larkfoot Basket Pattern
The pattern is worked in pairs of rows (after the base)- the first row of the pair has the long stitches worked between the previous set of long stitches. The second row is set up for the following row. The ch-1 spaces are not counted as spaces, only crochet in ch-1 sp when making long stitches- otherwise skip ch-1 spaces.
